Construction - Concrete finishers (NOC: 73100)

• Position: Construction - Concrete finishers
• Basic Salary: $30.00 per hour
• Work site: 301-3450 Uptown Blvd, Victoria, BC, V8Z 0B9 or Various location in Victoria depending on projects.
• Immediate Supervisor: Chinna Reddy Katireddy
• Available positions: 2
• Hours of Work: Minimum 7 hours per day/ 35 hours per week

Job Duties:

• Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement materials and direct placement of concrete into forms or onto surfaces according to grade
• Fill hollows and remove high spots to smooth freshly poured concrete
• Operate power vibrator to compact concrete
• Level top surface of concrete according to grade and depth specifications using straightedge or float
• Impart desired finish to concrete surfaces using hand and power tools
• Install anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other fixtures in freshly poured concrete
• Apply hardening and sealing compounds to cure surface of concrete
• Waterproof, damp-proof and restore concrete surfaces
• Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of floors, walls, roads and other concrete structures.
• Job Site Coordination - Manage day-to-day activities on site and ensured that the project runs smoothly from start to finish as per Building code.
• Establish methods to meet work schedules and co-ordinate work activities with other subcontractors
• Resolve work problems and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
• Manage construction sub-trades and suppliers on the job site and mitigated issues as they came up in the course of a project.

• Train workers in job duties, safety procedures and company policies
• Recommend personnel actions such as hirings and promotions
• Prepare work progress reports
• May manage the operations of company
• Select tools, equipment, and construction materials from storage and transport items to work site.
• Assist and work closely with Concrete finishers, Carpenters, finishers, flooring, Drywall Installer and painters to complete tasks.
• May also supervise, co-ordinate and schedule the activities of related apprentices, helpers and labourers.
• Clean work areas, machines, equipment to maintain a clean and safe job sites, free of debris.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of Construction - Concrete finishers and Supervisory experience.
• Minimum 1-2 years siding, flooring, painting, concrete finishing (preferably) or carpentry experience.
